I am delighted to have written a new piece for solo trombone. Titled Vera Stravinsky, Pudding Destroyer, it captures in mood and melody the moment Igor Stravinsky’s wife threw a chocolate pudding down the toilet following mistaken identification on issues of health and hygiene in W.H.Auden’s apartment. It lasts just under 2 minutes which is quite long enough for the shock. It was premiered by Hannah Stell on 23 April 2021 at the RAM live online.
